Testopel is offered to many of our patient with persistent and symptomatic low testosterone who desire testosterone replacement therapy. The advantage of testopel over traditional injections is that this simple procedure replaces testosterone reliably over about a four-month period. Patients who chose testopel are able to avoid some of the peaks and troughs (highs and lows) associated with traditional testosterone delivery like weekly or biweekly intramuscular injections. Testopel pellets are placed under the skin of the upper buttocks after administration of a local anesthetic. They take only a couple of minutes to place and patients are able to resume their normal activity immediately afterward.
