Posterior Tibial Nerve Stimulation (PTNS)

Providing timely and convenient access to the highest possible urologic care available.

PTNS is a procedure Dr. Gibson offers in his office. This procedure uses a very small needle, like an acupuncture needle, placed temporarily behind the ankle bone with a small electric current to stimulate the nerves of the bladder to help them “talk to” the bladder in a more coordinated way. This is typically performed once a week for up to twelve weeks and each session lasts about 30 minutes. Dr. Gibson uses this procedure to treat anything from urinary incontinence/leakage to chronic pelvic pain and bladder pain in men and women.
